Customer reviews
View and moderate reviews — from Google or added by hand — and the star rating on your page.
Reviews are the cheapest advertising you own. Mountify collects them in one place — the Reviews page in the board’s Setup hub. From there you read them, hide the unfair ones, add by hand the ones you already have, and decide whether they show on your public page at all.
Reviews belong to a board, not to the workspace. If you run two boards (say a salon and a studio), each has its own reviews and its own rating.
1. Getting to the page
- In the left rail, pick the board.
- Open the Setup hub.
- Choose the Reviews row.
The screen’s heading is Reviews, and under it: View and moderate your customers’ reviews. Hidden reviews don’t show publicly and don’t count toward the rating.
In the left rail, next to the Reviews row, a short status line shows the review count and average rating. If you have none, it says so.
2. The visibility switch
At the very top, before the list, is a block with the switch Show reviews on your booking page, described as When off, the reviews section is hidden from customers. Individual reviews and ratings are kept.
It is on by default. Exactly what switching it off stops is covered in Show reviews on your page.
3. The two tabs: Active and Archived
Below the switch sits a two-way segmented control, with an Add button on the right.
| Tab | What’s in it |
|---|---|
| Active | reviews shown publicly and counted in the rating |
| Archived | hidden reviews — kept, but invisible to customers |
When there’s nothing to show you see No reviews yet. (in Active) or No archived reviews. (in Archived). While data loads it reads Loading…
4. How to read a review card
Every review is a card. Top to bottom:
| Element | What it is |
|---|---|
| Stars | the 1–5 rating; filled stars use your accent colour |
| Text | the review itself, in quotation marks |
| Name | the author, in bold |
| Specialist avatar + name | present only if the review is attributed to a specialist |
| Date | the review’s date (not the date you entered it) |
| Source badge | Manual, Google, Yelp or Customer |
On desktop the action buttons appear when you hover the card (or reach it with Tab). On phone and tablet they are always visible.
| Button | Where it shows | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Pencil (Edit) | Active only | opens the review for editing |
| Hide | Active only | moves the review to Archived |
| Restore | Archived only | returns the review to Active |
There is no delete button. A review is never permanently removed, only archived. That’s deliberate: in a dispute you can always show what was written.
5. The four sources
The Source badge says where a review came from. It is visible to you only — the public page never shows it.
| Source | Who creates it | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Customer | the client themselves, via the booking page or the post-visit email | the only source created automatically; it’s tied to a specific booking |
| Manual | you, via the Add button | a review you were given in person, by phone or in a message |
| you, via the Add button | a review you transcribed from your Google profile | |
| Yelp | you, via the Add button | a review transcribed from Yelp |
Important: Google reviews are not imported automatically. There is no Google connection that pulls them in. The Google value is simply a label you choose while transcribing a genuine review. Details in Google & manual reviews.
6. How the rating is calculated
- Only active reviews feed the average. Archived ones don’t count.
- A review attributed to a specialist also feeds that specialist’s personal rating, recomputed automatically on every add, edit, hide or restore.
- A review with no specialist only feeds the venue’s overall rating.
- The rating is a plain average, shown to one decimal place alongside the review count.
7. Who has access
| Action | Requires |
|---|---|
| See the page and the reviews | permission to view the board |
| Add, edit, hide and restore | permission to edit the board |
If you can’t see Add, Hide or the pencil, your role is view-only. Ask the workspace owner.
8. Common questions
A client left me a review but it isn’t here. Customer reviews are only created for real past visits booked through the public page. Check the Archived tab too — a teammate may have hidden it.
Can one client leave two reviews for the same visit? No. One booking gets exactly one review. A second attempt shows You’ve already reviewed this visit.
I deleted a resource — what happens to its reviews? The reviews stay, but they’re no longer attributed to anyone. They only feed the venue’s overall rating.
Can I show one board’s reviews on another board? No. Reviews are strictly per board.
