The booking-page editor
Where you shape the public page and how to preview it on mobile and desktop before you go live.
Your public booking page is the only part of Mountify a client ever sees. Its entire look is shaped from a single admin screen — Setup → Public site. Settings sit on the left, grouped into sections; a live preview of what the client sees sits on the right. There is no Save button: every change saves itself and goes live immediately.
Important: your page is public while you are editing it. If you are not ready to take bookings, turn Online booking off first (step 3), then adjust everything else at your leisure.
1. How to reach the editor
- In the left rail pick the board you want to edit — every board has its own public page.
- Open the Setup hub.
- Choose the Public site row.
The full path is Setup → Public site. The page is titled Booking page, with How your public booking page looks to customers. underneath.
On a wide screen the Setup hub opens straight onto this page — it is first in the list. On a phone you first get a card per setup section and pick Public site from there.

2. Everything autosaves — there is no Save button
Right under the title sits the line Changes save and go live on your booking page automatically. Take that literally:
- Switches, tiles and colours save the moment you click them.
- Text fields (name, about, promo text, page address, social links) save when you leave the field — click somewhere else or press Tab. Having typed into the field is not enough.
- A small status pill in the top right shows Saving… while the request is in flight and Saved afterwards. If you see Couldn’t save, the change did NOT reach the server — try again.
Careful: if a field still holds unsaved text and you try to close the tab, the browser asks whether you really want to leave. That is a safety net — the unsaved text already shows in the preview on the right but is not live yet. Click outside the field, wait for Saved, then leave.
3. The master switch: «Online booking»
Above the tabs there is a standalone block with an Online booking switch. It is the master key for the whole page:
| State | The line underneath | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| On | Your booking page is live — customers can find you and book. | The link works, clients see your services and free times. |
| Off | Your booking page is hidden — customers can’t book online yet. | The link leads nowhere usable. The embedded widget stops working too. |
Turning it off deletes nothing — services, resources, working hours and existing bookings all stay. The shop window is simply shuttered.
Use the off state while you set everything up for the first time, and switch it on at the end, once you have at least one service and working hours.
4. The page’s two tabs
Under the switch there are two pills:
- Site settings — everything about the look and content of the page. 95% of the work happens here.
- Embed — a code generator for owners who have their own website and want booking inside it. If you have no website you don’t need this tab — see Embed booking on your site.
5. A tour of the sections
Inside Site settings the sections appear in this order. None is mandatory — work through them in any order and leave blank whatever you don’t need.
| Section | What it’s for | Covered in |
|---|---|---|
| Page address | The link you hand out, a copy button and the address field | Share your page |
| Identity | Logo, name and a short description | Brand your page |
| Promo bar | A short line in a bar at the very top | Brand your page |
| Hero section | How booking starts on the home screen — set separately for desktop and mobile | later in this article |
| Reviews | A link to your Google listing (not the reviews themselves) | Google & manual reviews |
| Photos | Up to 12 photos of your place | Page photos & gallery |
| Links | Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Website, WhatsApp, Viber | Brand your page |
| What’s the mood of your site? | 23 ready-made styles in two groups | Mood & theme |
| Theme | Light or dark | Mood & theme |
| Brand colour | The accent colour of buttons | Mood & theme |
| Fine-tuning | Corners, density, shadows — collapsed by default | Mood & theme |
| Components | Primary button, cards, logo shape — collapsed | Mood & theme |
| Font | The font for the whole page — collapsed | Mood & theme |
The three collapsed sections at the end (Fine-tuning, Components, Font) are optional. Open them only if you want to fiddle with details — click their heading.
What is NOT set here: your address, phone number and map. They live in Catalog → Locations — which is exactly what the hint under Links says: “Address & phone are set in Locations.” Services and prices are in Catalog → Offerings. Working hours are in Setup → Working hours.
6. The «Hero section» — how booking starts
Hero section is one of the few choices that changes the logic of the home screen, not just its colours. Its hint reads: “How booking starts on the home screen. Default = the current look.”
The section has two pills — Desktop and Mobile — with different variants for each. The choice is independent: you can run one look on a computer and another on a phone.
- Desktop: Default, Calendar, Specialists, Price menu, Tiles.
- Mobile: Default, Receipt, Showcase, Smart pick.
Every tile is a real mini-render with your own data — your services, your specialists, your colour. Clicking the Desktop / Mobile pill here also switches the big preview on the right.
Important for banners: on a phone, promo banners only appear if you have picked a Hero variant other than Default. On desktop banners always appear. If you made a banner and can’t see it on your phone, this is why — see Promo banners on your page.
7. The live preview: «Mobile» and «Desktop»
On the right (on wide screens) sits a panel labelled Live preview with a pulsing green dot. It draws the client’s real screen — not a mockup, but the same components that run on the public site.
- The toggle at the top right of the panel has two pills: Mobile and Desktop.
- Mobile is the default — most clients book from a phone.
- Check both. Dark moods, long names and big logos read very differently on the two screens.
If your window is narrower, the right-hand panel disappears. A Preview button then appears in the top right and opens the same preview as a side sheet — that is the answer for working from a phone or tablet.

8. «Open page» — the real check
The preview shows the home screen but isn’t interactive. For a real check press Open page in the top right — the public page opens in a new tab at its real address.
Do this at least once before you spend money on ads:
- Open the page in a new tab.
- Pick a service and walk the whole way to confirmation.
- Verify there are free times. If there aren’t, see Find out why a service shows no free times.
- Open the same link on your phone too — not just on the computer.
If you want to walk the guided tour of this page again, the Tour button next to Open page restarts it (13 steps, one per section).
9. How fast a change reaches the client
In the admin the preview updates instantly. The public page, however, keeps a short cache of roughly half a minute. So:
- After changing a mood, colour or photo, or hiding a review, reopen the public page half a minute later and hard-reload with Ctrl+F5 (⌘+Shift+R on Mac).
- If you still see the old version, it’s your own browser cache or a stale open tab — close the tab and open it fresh.
10. Who may edit this page
The page writes straight to the board, so it requires the edit-board permission. The Owner and Admin roles always have it; so does Member. Viewer can look, but any change returns You don’t have permission for this action.
If you are on a role without the permission but need the access — see Build a custom role.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| I typed a new name but the public page doesn’t have it | The field never saved — you didn’t leave it | Click outside the field and wait for Saved |
| The pill says Couldn’t save | Lost connection, or missing permission | Check your internet, reload the page, try again |
| The change shows in the preview but not live | The public page cache | Wait half a minute and hard-reload with Ctrl+F5 |
| The public link opens nothing usable | Online booking is off | Turn the switch on |
| The page opens but there is not a single service | No active services on the board | Add one in Catalog → Offerings |
| The preview panel on the right is missing | The window is narrower than required | Press Preview in the top right |
| I can’t find the address and phone fields | They aren’t here | Catalog → Locations |
| I made a banner but it’s absent on the phone | The mobile Hero is Default | Pick a different mobile Hero variant |
