One-off classes
A single session on a specific date — a workshop or special class, with no recurring series.
Not every class repeats. A one-afternoon workshop, a guest instructor, a Christmas masterclass, a trial lesson before the new season — those are one-off classes: one session, on one date, with no repeating pattern behind it.
You create them from the same screen as series — Catalog → Programs — but with the other button: One-off class.
1. One-off or series?

The rule is simple: if there is a rhythm that will repeat, make a series — it takes care of future dates by itself. If the event stands alone, a one-off class is faster and leaves no rule to clean up later.
2. Step by step
- Open Catalog → Programs.
- Press One-off class top right (the outlined button, left of New series).
- The One-off class panel opens.
- Fill in the fields from the table below.
- Press Create. You get “Class created”.

3. What happens after you create it
A one-off class is exactly the same object as a session born from a series — it just has no rule behind it. So:
- it appears in Schedule as a card with a
0/{seats}counter; - it appears on the public page in the group-classes section;
- clients sign up the same way — one seat per sign-up;
- when it fills, the waitlist works too;
- in Catalog → Programs you find it by expanding the relevant series row… unless the offering has no series at all.
Finding it later: the list in Catalog → Programs is a list of series. Concrete sessions appear under a series when you expand the row. A one-off class belongs to no series — the fastest way to find it afterwards is Schedule (by date) or the public page.
4. Editing it
Open the session — from Schedule or from an upcoming-sessions list — and you land in the Edit single class panel. It is the same panel used for series sessions, with a One-off tag instead of From series.
There you can change Start time, Duration, Instructor, Capacity, Location and the Customer-facing note, see attendees and the waitlist, promote someone from the waitlist, and cancel the class.
Capacity cannot go below the number already booked — the field shows “Min: {N} (current bookings)“.
5. Cancelling
The Cancel this class button opens Cancel this single class?.
- With no attendees: “The series stays intact. Only this specific class gets cancelled. You can revive it later.”
- With attendees: the text states how many customers there are and that their bookings will be auto-cancelled.
A cancelled session stays visible in the admin with a Cancelled badge and the note “This class is cancelled. Customer bookings have been cancelled automatically.” Revive brings it back.
Clients who signed up through the public page get an email about the cancellation. Clients your team entered by hand get nothing — you have to phone them.
6. What a one-off class does NOT do
- It does not repeat. There is no “do it again next week” — that’s what a series, or Duplicate on a series, is for.
- It is not a course package. A course is several sessions sold together and reserved in one go at purchase. A one-off class is a single session booked on its own.
- It is not visible if the offering is hidden. If group classes are off for the workspace, or the offering isn’t available at that location, the session never reaches the client.
7. Troubleshooting
The “One-off class” button is disabled. There is no Group class offering yet. Create one first: Set up a class.
I created it but can’t find it under Programs. See the note in §3 — that list shows series. Look for the session in Schedule, by date.
I can’t set capacity to 5 — it says “Min: 8”. Eight people are already booked. Cancel bookings first, or leave capacity higher.
Clients don’t see it. Check the date (has it passed), the session’s location against the offering’s locations, and whether the workspace still has the Group classes feature.
