Switch between locations
How you and your clients pick a branch when you have more than one place.
Once you run several branches from one board, the obvious question is “how do I look at just one of them?” The answer: there is no global switcher. There is no single control that says “we’re at Vitosha now”. Instead there is a location filter on the pages where filtering makes sense, and a branch picker on the pages where things are configured per branch.
This article shows exactly where each lives, and how the client picks a branch on their side.
1. Why there is no global switcher
A location in Mountify is a filter, not a mode. One board stays one board — clients, services, packages and loyalty rules are shared. A global switcher would make it far too easy to edit something believing it applies “only to this branch” when in fact it applies everywhere.
So the choice is local and always visible on the page you’re standing on.
2. The location filter (the branch pill)
It appears only when the board has two or more locations. With one location it is hidden.
It looks like a small chip with a coloured dot, the current branch name and a down arrow. Clicking it opens a list with All branches at the top and each branch below.

How it behaves
- All branches is the default state. It shows a globe icon instead of a coloured dot.
- The choice is stored in the page address. So if you copy the link and send it to a colleague, they see exactly the same view.
- The choice is not remembered between sessions — deliberately, so you can’t end up locked into one branch without realising.
- The choice changes nothing in your data. It is a view only.
3. The branch picker in “Working hours”
Here the pills work differently — they don’t filter, they select what you are editing.
- Setup → Working hours.
- At the top there is a switch between Business hours (the salon’s) and Staff schedule.
- In Business hours mode, if you have two or more locations, a row of pills labelled Location appears, one per branch.
- Click the pill for the branch you want to edit. Its hours load below.
A small coloured dot on the right of a pill means “this branch has its own hours”. The tooltip reads “Has its own hours”.
Here the choice matters — you are editing that specific branch. Double-check which pill is active before you change any hours. Details in Hours by location.
4. How location shows in the calendar
Even without a filter, every booking carries a marker for its branch:
- A coloured dot in the location’s accent colour.
- The booking’s detail panel has a Location row.
That is why it’s worth giving your branches distinct accent colours — at a glance you can see which booking is where.
5. How the client picks a branch
On the client’s side the choice is part of the booking flow.

If the branches have map pins the client also gets a map. If some have no pin, an explanation shows: “Showing N of M branches on the map. Branches without a pin are listed below.” And if none has a pin: “No branches pinned on the map yet — see the list below.”
Group classes have a special case: if the chosen class isn’t held at the chosen branch, the client sees “{service} isn’t held at {location}.” with the hint “Try another location — it might be there.” and a Change location button.
6. If the filter isn’t there
