Seasonal campaigns

Run a time-boxed promo — a banner plus a discount with a start and end, with no manual switch-off.

A seasonal campaign is a promotion with a start and an end: a March discount, a summer offer, Black Friday, “−20% until the end of the month”. In Mountify it’s built from two parts, each with its own window:

  1. A banner in Setup → Banners — it announces the offer. Its window is Show from and Show until.
  2. A loyalty rule in Setup → Loyalty — it applies the actual discount. Its window is Valid from and Valid until.

The two windows are independent. If they don’t match you get either a banner advertising an expired offer, or a discount nobody knows about.

Busy-hour and day-of-week pricing is not here. If you want a different price on certain days or at certain times (say +30% on Saturdays), that’s a price rule inside the service itself — see Pricing & modifiers.

1. The plan, in six steps

Step 1: settle the exact dates

Write them down before you touch the product: from which date and until which date, inclusive. The end date is inclusive — a banner with Show until 31 March is visible throughout 31 March.

Step 2: build the discount

  1. Open Setup → Loyalty.
  2. Create a new rule and pick a template:
    • Promo code — the client types a code at checkout;
    • First-visit discount — for winning new clients;
    • Buy N, get one — for returning clients.
  3. In the Who qualifies step, fill in Valid from and Valid until with the dates from step 1.
  4. Save.

The hints under the fields say exactly what they do: Empty — no start date. Only bookings on or after this date get the reward. and Empty — the rule runs forever. Bookings made on or before this date still get the reward.

Step 3: cap it, if the discount is a percentage

In the Advanced step there’s a Discount ceiling — the maximum amount per application. “50% off, but never more than 20” protects your expensive services.

The same step holds the rule’s total budget: the overall amount the rule can ever give away, after which it stops firing. Useful for a campaign with a fixed budget.

Step 4: build the banner

  1. Open Setup → BannersNew banner.
  2. Write a Headline and a Subhead — put the deadline in the copy, e.g. “Until 31 March”.
  3. Choose a background and layout.
  4. In the Schedule & audience section, fill in Show from and Show until — the same dates as the rule.

In the Link a loyalty rule section, pick the rule from step 2.

That does three things:

  • With a Promo code rule the banner shows a code chip next to the button, labelled Use code; tapping it copies the code.
  • With a Buy N, get one rule the banner shows that client’s own progress.
  • If the rule expires or is archived, the banner disappears automatically — the safety net against advertising a code that no longer works.

Step 6: publish the banner

Go back to the banner strip and flip the switch. The badge changes to Live.

Check it on the public page. If it isn’t showing, walk the causes in Promo banners on your page.

2. How the two windows interact

SituationWhat the client sees and gets
Dates matcheverything behaves as you expect
Banner starts before the rulethey see the offer, but checkout rejects the code
Banner ends before the rulethe discount still works, but nobody knows about it
Rule expires before the bannerthe banner hides itself thanks to the link between them
No dates anywherethe campaign runs forever until you stop it by hand

Link the banner to the rule. It’s the only protection that works on its own. An unlinked banner keeps advertising an expired offer until you switch it off yourself.

3. Time zone and precise timing

  • Dates are read in the board’s time zone (set in Setup → Settings).
  • Show until is inclusive — through the end of that day.
  • There is no time of day, only a date. A campaign that should start “at 6 pm on Friday” can’t be scheduled more precisely than “on Friday”.

4. Audience: who the campaign is for

In Schedule & audience, pick:

AudienceWhen to use it
Everyone (incl. guests)a mass seasonal promo — the standard choice
Signed-in clients onlyan offer for returning clients
New customers (0 bookings)a first-visit acquisition campaign

A guest who hasn’t signed in never sees the last two.

5. Worked scenarios

”−20% on hair in March”

PartSetting
RulePromo code MARCH20, 20%, Valid from 1 March, Valid until 31 March, ceiling 30
Bannerheadline “−20% on hair in March”, action Copy code, code MARCH20, linked rule = the above, Show from 1 March, Show until 31 March
AudienceEveryone (incl. guests)

“15% off your first visit — until the end of summer”

PartSetting
RuleFirst-visit discount, 15%, Valid until 31 August
Bannerheadline “First time here? −15%”, action Scroll to services, linked rule = the above, Show until 31 August
AudienceNew customers (0 bookings)

With the New customers audience, only signed-in clients with no bookings see the banner. If you want guests to see it too, choose Everyone (incl. guests) — new clients still get the discount, everyone else just sees the banner.

6. After the campaign ends

Once the window passes:

  • The banner stops showing by itself. You don’t need to switch it off.
  • The rule stops discounting by itself. Its status in the list, however, stays “Active” — nothing flips it automatically. That’s normal; the rule simply no longer fires.
  • If the campaign won’t repeat, archive the rule and delete the banner so they don’t pile up.
  • If it will repeat next year, keep both and just change the dates next time.

7. Troubleshooting

A client says the code doesn’t work, but the banner is visible. Check the rule’s window, not the banner’s. If the banner isn’t linked to the rule, it knows nothing about it.

The campaign is over and the banner is still there. You left Show until empty and the banner isn’t linked to a rule. Switch it off by hand and set dates next time.

The discount came out bigger than planned. Two rules are probably stacking. Check the combine setting under Advanced and see Stacking and budgets.

The banner vanished before the end. The linked rule was archived or expired earlier. Check the rule’s Valid until.

Can I schedule a campaign to start next month? Yes — fill in Show from on the banner and Valid from on the rule. Both sit dormant until the date.
