Sign in & password
How to sign in, change your password, and what to do if you've forgotten it.
You sign in to Mountify with an email and a password. The same ones everywhere — your computer, your phone, the tablet at the front desk. A forgotten password is recovered with a 6-digit code by email, not with a magic link — and the whole flow has to be finished in the same browser tab.
A note on language: the sign-in, registration and password-reset screens are in English for both admin languages. So the labels in this article are written exactly as you’ll see them: Sign in, Forgot password?, Send code. Picking Bulgarian inside Mountify does not translate them.
1. How to sign in
- Open app.mountify.eu (or press “Sign in” on the Mountify website).
- The page forwards you to the sign-in screen on its own — you’ll briefly see a spinner reading “Taking you to sign-in…”.
- Type your email in the Email field.
- Type your password in the Password field.
- Press Sign in.
That’s it — you land straight in your workspace. If you belong to more than one, the last one you used opens; switching takes two clicks (Switch workspace).
Under the button there’s a Create account link — that’s for a brand-new account, not for signing in. See Create your account & workspace.
If the business has connected sign-in through Google or a similar service, a Continue with … button appears under the form as well. If there’s no such button, the service simply isn’t enabled — that’s normal.
If the sign-in screen doesn’t open and you see “The sign-in page didn’t open” instead, press Try again. It’s almost always a network issue — a request blocked by a browser extension, or a dropped connection.
2. If you have two-factor authentication
When your account is protected by an authenticator app, a correct password is followed by a second screen — Two-step verification:
- Open the authenticator app on your phone.
- Type the 6-digit code into Authentication code (the field is six separate boxes — as soon as you fill it, the check runs by itself).
- If your phone isn’t to hand, press Use a backup code and type one of your backup codes.
- Press Verify.
The full story — turning it on, backup codes, turning it off — is in Two-factor authentication.
3. Forgotten password: four screens, one tab
Recovery is a four-screen flow. Do it in one sitting.
Screen 1 — the request
- On the sign-in screen press Forgot password?.
- Reset password opens, explaining that a code is on its way.
- Type your address into Email.
- Press Send code.
Screen 2 — the code
- The heading becomes Check your email, with the address the code went to printed underneath.
- Open your inbox and fetch the 6-digit code.
- Type it into Verification code — six separate boxes.
- Press Verify (or just wait — with all six digits in, the check starts by itself).
If no code arrives, wait out the Resend code in 30s countdown and press Resend code.
Screen 3 — the new password
- The heading is Set a new password.
- Type the new password into New password.
- Repeat it in Confirm new password.
- Press Reset password.
Screen 4 — done
Password updated appears, telling you to sign in with the new password. Press Go to sign in and log in.
Important — don’t switch tabs. The flow keeps its state in the current browser tab. If you open the email in a different browser, in a private window, or on your phone and continue there, you’ll be thrown back to the first step. Fetch the code from the email and type it into the same tab you pressed Forgot password? in.
Second important thing: recovery does not sign you in automatically. It always ends with a fresh sign-in — that’s expected.
4. The password requirements
Under the password field the app prints the rules before you type anything:
| Rule | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Between 8 and 256 characters | At least 8 characters, at most 256 |
| No repeats or sequences — avoid 1234, aaaa, qwerty | No repeated runs, no keyboard sequences |
| Doesn’t contain your email or name | The password must not contain your email or name |
If a password is rejected, the exact reasons are listed under the field. The most common:
| Message | How to fix it |
|---|---|
| Too short — use at least 8 characters. | Add characters |
| Avoid sequences like “1234”, “abcd” or “qwerty”. | Don’t type keyboard runs |
| Avoid repeated runs like “aaaa” or “1111”. | Don’t repeat one character |
| Don’t put your email or name in the password. | Take your name and email out |
| Add another kind of character — a letter, number or symbol. | Mix letters, digits and a symbol |
| Passwords don’t match | The two fields differ — retype them |
5. There is no password change inside Mountify
This is the expectation that most often goes unmet: User settings → Personal has no new-password field. If you want a new password while you’re signed in, do this:
- Sign out (Log out & security).
- On the sign-in screen press Forgot password?.
- Run the flow from §3.
Or simply open the sign-in screen in another tab and start there — you don’t have to sign out, but it’s tidier.
6. Sign-in error messages
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Wrong email or password. | The email + password pair doesn’t match | Check capitals, and check for an old email if you’ve changed it |
| We couldn’t find an account with that email. | On the reset screen: no account with this address | Check the address. You may have registered with another |
| This email is already registered. | On registration: the address already has an account | Sign in instead of registering |
| That code doesn’t match — check the email and try again. | Wrong digits | Re-read the email |
| The code has expired — request a new one. | The code sat too long | Resend code |
| Too many wrong attempts — request a new code. | Attempts used up | Request a new code |
| The verification expired — request a new code. | The flow was interrupted, or a tab was switched | Start from Forgot password? |
| This account has been suspended — contact support. | The account is blocked | Contact support |
| Too many attempts — please wait a moment and try again. | Too many tries in a short window | Wait a bit |
| Too many code requests for this email. You can request a new code in … | Protection against flooding a mailbox | Wait exactly as long as it says |
| We couldn’t verify that you’re not a robot — reload the page and try again. | The anti-bot check didn’t pass | Reload the page (F5) and try again |
| Email delivery is not configured — codes cannot be sent right now. | A technical problem with sending | Contact support |
| Network error — check your connection and try again. | No connection | Check your internet |
Troubleshooting
My password is right but it says “Wrong email or password”. The most common cause is a changed email. If you’ve been through Change your sign-in email, the old address no longer works.
I sign in and it bounces me straight back to the sign-in screen. Usually the browser is blocking cookies, or a very aggressive extension is. Try another browser, or allow the app’s address in your privacy extensions.
The reset code never arrives. Check the spam folder. Wait out the countdown and press Resend code. If the address is a work one, a company filter may be holding it.
I got to “Set a new password”, reloaded, and it threw me back to the start. The flow is tied to the tab. Do the steps in one go, without reloading.
I can’t get in because I lost the phone with my 2FA codes. Use a backup code. If you don’t have those either, see the lost-phone section in Two-factor authentication.
Common questions
Can I change my sign-in email? Yes, yourself, from User settings → Personal → Change. See Change your sign-in email.
Why are these screens in English when my admin is in Bulgarian? The sign-in screens are separate from the admin panel and are English-only for now. The logic is identical in both languages.
Is there sign-in by SMS code? No. Mountify sends no SMS at all — not to clients, not for sign-in.
Can an administrator change my password? No. Nobody can see or change somebody else’s password. The only route is Forgot password?.
How long does my session stay alive? There’s no fixed period we’d promise. On a shared computer, sign out explicitly.
