Monthly or annual, and VAT
The billing cycle (two months free on annual), the intro price, that all prices exclude VAT, and that the subscription is in euros.
Before you pay you need four numbers: the plan price, the cycle (monthly or yearly), VAT and the currency. Every price in Mountify is in euros and excludes VAT, and paying yearly means 10 months for 12 — two months free.
1. The “Monthly” / “Yearly” toggle
Open Settings → Workspace settings → Subscription & billing. Above the plan cards sits a two-position toggle:
- Monthly — charged every month;
- Yearly with a green 2 months free badge — charged once for 12 months.
Switch to Yearly and the card prices change, with a line under each: “≈ {amount}/mo — 2 months free” — what it works out to per month if you divide the yearly figure by 12.
If you are already on a paid plan, the toggle only changes the prices shown. It does not change your subscription. The real cycle change goes through the billing portal — see Change your plan.
2. The exact numbers
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Works out to | Yearly saving |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Start | €9 (intro, then €13) | €90 | ≈ €8/mo | 2 months |
| Growth | €29 | €290 | ≈ €24/mo | 2 months |
| Pro | €49 | €490 | ≈ €41/mo | 2 months |
| Custom | “Custom” | “Custom” | — | negotiated |
The rule is simple: yearly price = 10 × monthly.
3. Start’s intro price
The Start card shows €9/mo and, under the price, a line reading “then €13/mo”. That means €9 is an introductory (promotional) price and €13 is the regular one.
The other two plans have no intro price — their figures are the regular ones.
4. Add-ons follow the plan’s cycle
An add-on cannot bill on a different cycle from the plan — Stripe doesn’t allow mixed intervals in one subscription. So:
| Add-on | Monthly | Yearly (×10) |
|---|---|---|
| Extra bookable spot | €7 per spot | €70 per spot |
| Extra location | €9 per site | €90 per site |
| Group classes | €12 | €120 |
| CRM+ & campaigns | €15 | €150 |
Example: Growth yearly with 2 extra spots = €290 + 2 × €70 = €430 per year, excluding VAT.
The What you pay block in the side panel assembles exactly that sum: one line for the plan, one per add-on, and Total at the bottom.
5. All prices exclude VAT
Under the sum in the panel it says “All prices exclude VAT — Stripe adds it at checkout.” Which means:
- the Total shown in Mountify is net;
- the amount your card actually sees is higher by VAT;
- VAT is calculated on Stripe’s page from the country and address you enter there, and appears as a separate line on the invoice.
On the checkout page Stripe asks for:
- a billing address — required; it determines the rate;
- a VAT number — optional. If you’re VAT-registered and enter a valid number, Stripe applies the matching tax treatment (with reverse charge, the invoice comes out without VAT);
- a promotion code — if you have one, the field is there (not in Mountify).
We are not tax advisers. If you’re unsure whether to enter a VAT number and how it affects your bookkeeping, ask your accountant. Whatever you type goes onto the invoice — so get it right the first time.
6. The subscription is in euros; your till may not be
Two different currencies that are easy to confuse:
| Currency | Where | Who sets it |
|---|---|---|
| Euro (EUR) | your subscription to Mountify | fixed — the plans are priced in euros |
| Your board’s currency | every figure in bookings, payments and reports | you, in the board settings |
If your card is in another currency, your bank converts at its own rate — expect a small difference from the euro figure shown. Your till’s currency has nothing to do with the subscription; for that see Venue currency.
7. Where the real invoice lives
Mountify has no invoice list. Invoices and receipts live in Stripe’s billing portal: the Manage billing button at the bottom of the side panel (it only appears once you have a live paid subscription). Download them as PDFs for your accountant. Steps in Payment & invoices.
8. Custom — when the numbers don’t fit
If you need unlimited spots, a white-label storefront, API access or an SLA, the cards don’t apply. Under the three plans there’s a Custom strip priced “Custom” with a Let’s talk button that opens an email to the sales team. Price and cycle are agreed there.
9. Changing the cycle later
You can. Not from the toggle on the page, though — from Stripe’s portal (Manage billing). Moving from monthly to yearly, Stripe prorates what you’ve already paid and invoices the difference right away.
10. Common questions
Does “2 months free” mean I pay for 10 months? Yes. The yearly price is 10 × monthly, and you get 12 months of use.
If I pay for a year and cancel after 3 months, do I get money back? Cancelling stops the renewal; access stays until the end of the paid period. Refunds follow the Terms and are handled on request; unused credit can be refunded if you ask.
Can I get an invoice in my company’s name? Yes — enter the company details (address, and VAT number if you have one) on the checkout page. They appear on every subsequent invoice and can be edited from the portal.
Does the price shown include VAT? No. Every price in the app and on the pricing page excludes VAT.
Am I billed in my local currency? The subscription is charged in euros. If your card is in another currency, your bank does the conversion.
An add-on bought mid-month — do I pay a full month? No. You’re charged a prorated amount for the rest of the period, immediately. See Add spots & locations.
11. Troubleshooting
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The card was charged more than Total | Total is net of VAT | The difference is VAT — check the invoice line in the portal |
| On the yearly cycle the Total row looks odd (plan in /yr, add-ons in /mo) | A labelling quirk — the add-on figure is already the yearly one | Trust the Stripe invoice for the exact sum |
| I switched to Yearly but nothing changed in my billing | On a paid plan the toggle is preview only | Change the cycle from Manage billing |
| The promo code isn’t accepted | It has expired or doesn’t apply to the chosen plan/cycle | Check its validity; the field is on Stripe’s page, not in Mountify |
| Wrong address / VAT number on the invoice | They were entered at checkout | Edit them in the portal — they apply to future invoices |
