Your plan's bookable-spots limit

Above your resource list, on the right, sits a small grey chip: 4 / 15 spots. It looks like a statistic. It’s actually your price list. Mountify doesn’t charge by bookings, clients or services — those are unlimited on every plan. It charges by how many things can be booked in parallel. Those are your bookable spots.

This article explains how the number is counted, which resources go into it, exactly what happens when you hit the ceiling, and the two ways out.

1. Where the chip is

1. In the left icon rail, pick your board.
2. Catalog → (e.g. Catalog → Stylists).
3. In the bar above the list, on the right, just before the “N of M” counter — that’s the chip.

Hovering it shows a tooltip:

When you reach the ceiling the chip turns amber and a crowned Upgrade plan link appears next to it.

The chip is identical on every kind’s page. It doesn’t say “how many stylists you have” — it says how many spots the whole workspace uses.

2. How it’s counted — one word: parallelism

First and most important: the number is for the entire workspace, not the board. Every non-archived board in the workspace is summed. A second board does not double your allowance.

A resource is counted when all of the following hold:

1. It’s active — the Active · available for booking toggle is on.
2. It’s not archived.
3. It carries at least one active service — i.e. it can fulfil some service’s capacity anchor requirement.

And it’s counted once, even if it can perform ten services.

For equipment, the stock count is what’s charged, not the row: one “Rackets” row with a stock of 6 eats 6 spots.

3. What does NOT count

This is where most surprises hide — and most of your savings.

The most useful consequence: a receptionist, bookkeeper or manager who takes no bookings costs nothing. You pay for parallel capacity only.

4. How many spots each plan gives

Two more facts:

• During the trial your capacity is at Pro level. When the trial ends without a payment, capacity drops to zero and nothing can be booked until you pick a plan.
• You can buy Extra bookable spots — €7/mo each, on any plan. They stack on top of the plan’s limit: Pro with 3 extra spots = 18.

5. What happens when you hit the ceiling

The system never blocks creation — it blocks activation. Here’s what you’ll see in each of the four cases.

5.1 You create a new resource

The form goes through, the resource is saved, but a notice arrives:

• title Bookable-spots limit reached
• body “The resource was created inactive because your plan is at its bookable-spots limit. Upgrade your plan to activate it.”
• button Upgrade plan

The resource exists with all its settings — it’s simply Inactive.

5.2 You try to switch Active on from the list

The toggle is greyed out. Hovering it:

“You’ve reached your plan’s bookable-spots limit. Deactivate another resource or upgrade your plan to activate this one.”

plus an Upgrade plan link.

If you do manage to click it (say, just before the data refreshes), you get: “You’ve reached your plan’s 15 bookable spots — upgrade to add more.” with an Upgrade plan button.

5.3 You save the editor with Active switched on

Your changes are kept, but the toggle doesn’t stick:

“Your changes were saved, but the resource stayed inactive because your plan is at its bookable-spots limit. Upgrade your plan to activate it.”

5.4 You restore a resource from archive

If the resource was active before it was archived, the restore is checked against the limit and can be refused with Plan limit reached.

The same check runs when you raise a piece of equipment’s stock count — going from 3 to 6 asks for three free spots.

6. The two ways out

Way A: free a spot (free, immediate)

1. Catalog → for each kind in turn.
2. Walk the list and find resources that bring in no bookings.
3. Switch Active off on them. The chip drops immediately.

Candidates you’ll almost always find:

• resources created “to try it out” during setup;
• rooms or chairs that aren’t actually booked separately;
• equipment with a stock count higher than reality;
• people who left and nobody archived;
• a second board someone made as an experiment and forgot.

The table view (the list icon on the right) is faster for this: the Today, Load and Active columns sit side by side, so idle rows are obvious.

Way B: buy capacity

1. Profile menu → Subscription & billing.
2. Either change the plan (Start → Growth → Pro), or under Add-ons raise Extra bookable spots.
3. Go back to the kind’s page — the chip already shows the new denominator and the toggles unlock.

Which pays off: if you need 1–3 spots above your plan, add-ons are cheaper. Beyond that the next plan up is usually better value and brings other things with it.

7. Working out how many spots you need

Count the parallel services in your busiest hour, not the people on payroll.

Three stylists on shifts, but never more than two at a time	2 (leave the third inactive until needed)
Salon with 4 stylists + 2 rooms booked separately	6
Tennis club with 4 courts	4
Studio with 1 hall and 6 rental rackets sold as a service	1 + 6 = 7
Clinic: 3 doctors + 3 rooms, the service needs both	6

Watch that last row. If a service requires both a doctor and a room, only one of the two is the capacity anchor — that’s the one charged. The other is a second requirement and adds no spot. See Resource kinds & capacity.

8. Troubleshooting

The chip shows more than I expect. Check three things: (1) a second board in the same workspace; (2) equipment with a stock count above 1; (3) old resources left active.

The chip didn’t move after I hid a resource. Hiding doesn’t free a spot. Switch Active off instead.

The chip didn’t move after I deactivated a resource. Refresh the page. The number comes from the server and refreshes when you return to the page.

I created a resource and it’s greyed out. It was created inactive because of the limit. Free a spot or upgrade, then switch Active on.

I’m on Pro but the chip reads “0 / 0”. The subscription is canceled or expired. See When billing lapses.

The chip reads “4 / ∞”. That’s the Custom plan — no limit, and you’ll never see a locked toggle.

I don’t see the chip at all. It appears once your plan data loads. If it stays missing, refresh the page.
